Prize Winner!

Hi everyone,
Just a quick post to let you know that I didn't forget to draw the winner of my fabulous prize draw on Friday.  I had Miss 7 draw the winner's name, under strict supervision I might add!  Congratulations to Kim who was absolutely stunned when we arrived on her doorstep not only with her order, but with that big bag of goodies as well.  She said we made her day!

Sorry I don't have any crafter's eye candy to share with you today.  I haven't made anything for several days now (must be due for withdrawl to set in!).  I have been busy with family over the Easter holiday, and I am busy making a Snorepro device for my brother who is visiting from the USA.  Imagine how surprised I was to discover that he and I have virtually identical teeth!  Who would have thought.... I guess that confirms we are siblings, so that's a good thing!

While I haven't been crafting myself, Miss 7 has been busy making cards this afternoon.  I might have to hide my new Simply Scored tool from her because she has fallen for that as well - now I don't have to score her base cards for her, she can do it herself!  How awesome is the Simply Scored if a 7 year old can use it perfectly?!  Really, you need this fabulous tool if you don't have one already :-)

I've been roasting pork all day and it smells sooooo good!  I'm hungry now for something other than chocolate!

Back soon with something crafty to share I hope!

Two days to go!

Hi everyone,
Well, I hope you're all enjoying the new mini catalogue!  I certainly am, now that I can show my guests all the lovely new toys I have to play with!

My launch party and 5th birthday as a Demo celebration went well on the weekend, we made some fun little projects that showed off my new toys nicely I think!

I featured the Simply Scored tool which I have fallen in love with, if you were here on Sunday you'll have seen me with my jaw hanging open when I scored a gatefold card on it for the first time (yep, I'm daring enough to try out things in front of customers for the first time ever!).  I tell you I've never been able to make one of those with as perfect a join as the Simply Scored gave me, and I am a perfectionist when it comes to using my trimmer for scoring cardstock.  I was stunned!  I don't have a gatefold card to show you yet, as I haven't gotten around to creating one using the base card I scored that day.  Give me a bit of time, though and I just might finish it off!

What I can share is the two make n takes I had for my guests to create.  I told them earlier they'd be making a card, but we didn't make a card at all!

First up, we had a fun time practicing with the Simply Scored, using it to make one of these beautiful Rosette flowers using the Twitterpated designer series paper (I'm in love with that paper!).  This was very simply decorated using a couple of flowers punched using the Boho Blossoms punch, and a little pearl to finish.  I stuck the rosette to the top of a skinny cello bag filled with mini Easter Eggs.  I couldn't not include chocolate somewhere along the way now could I?

My second project was this cute little bookmark that you put over the corner of your page to mark the page you're reading.  In this case I put it on a page of my Idea Book & Catalogue.  Why you'd put that down I don't know (tee hee), but just in case you want to, you can mark your spot with this bookmark!  Now, the original idea for the bookmark came from the latest Demonstrator magazine that we get every month, although I completely changed the stamps and the look of it.  But the basic construction came from the Stampin' Up! office.  That's one of the things I love about Stampin' Up! - you can never get stuck for a project as they supply us with tonnes of project inspiration through catalogues, newsletters and our Demonstrator-only forum.  I actually didn't finally decide on this project until Sunday morning, having "played" with new stamps and things all day on Saturday.  I think I had a case of the "I want to make everything" cravings that left me somewhat paralysed and unable to pin some ideas down until the last moment!

For this bookmark I used the Loving Thoughts and Mixed Bunch stamp sets and the matching punch for the large flower, one of the new Edgelits dies and the matching Adorning Accents embossing folder, and the new Island Indigo baker's twine.  I love that we now have the baker's twine in the latest In-Colours!

Last thing I wanted to mention is that there is only two days (less really, as I've given you a 7pm deadline to email me!) to get your entry/entries into my big prize draw.  You could win this!

Check out my previous blog post (click here) to find out how to enter - you just have to email me with your qualifying order by 7pm on Thursday night, or sign up with me by then (come join me, it's great fun!).  For some reason I got the date wrong when I did that last blog post and put it as the 4th April, but I actually intended to close the prize draw off at 7pm on Thursday 5th, so you have until then.  There are a few entries in the draw already, but the odds of you winning are WAY better than the lottery, so be quick!

Have a very Happy Easter, take care if you're out on the roads and go easy on the chocolate!
