Where is the year going?! I'm having such a busy one, but it's all good! Recently (ish!), I've been away to Australia to Stampin' Up!'s annual South Pacific Convention, and what a blast that was! I headed over there with a fellow demonstrator (my friend Helen from Taranaki), and we went to the convention first in Canberra and afterwards spent a couple of days recovering and shopping in Melbourne. So much fun! I was thrilled to discover I made the Top 10 demos in NZ list for the final time. They're not going to have the Top 10 anymore, for reasons which I understand and agree with, but it was nice to be recognised for it one more time anyway! In my five years of being a Demonstrator, I've made the Top 10 four times. What a ride - who could be unhappy about that?! Helen was also in the Top 10 and it was a great Convention for her - as well as being up on stage doing a fabulous demonstration on the Big Shot, she earned lots of awards so I did lots of cheering for my roomie too!
Here's a pic of me that Casey, the official photographer took of me when I was frantically shopping in Memento Mall. I was looking at a new set of stamps that Stampin' Up! sell to Demonstrators to use in prizes/gifts at our parties, and wondering whether I could manage it in my luggage (which was already maximum weight with all the fabulous stuff that Stampin' Up! gave us, and we hadn't even been shopping in Melbourne yet!). Casey asked me to wave the set around and snapped me laughing as I did that. I look pretty happy, don't I?
There are only two days left for you to grab your free Reason to Smile stamp set, if you don't already have it! It's free with a $150 order, or you can buy the set for $34.95 clear mount, or $43.95 wood mount. Did you know that Stampin' Up! now sells 70% of it's stamps as clear mounted sets? I know I'm a convert and many of my wonderful customers are, too! Click here if you want to send me an email and order your set before it's too late!
Here's a card I made and taught to a couple of groups of lovely ladies, using the Reason to Smile stamp set. We had fun colouring the image in. You get quite a different look colouring on Crumb Cake cardstock than you get when you colour it on Whisper White. If you have any questions about this card, let me know. My thanks to a fellow demo at Convention for the idea to stamp on a framelit cut out and tie that gorgeous seam binding ribbon around with the little tags - this was sort of a case on her project, although I used different stamps and made my background different, I used some of the Twitterpated designer series paper (I'm in love with that paper, and have used so much, I'm almost eating it for breakfast lol!). I don't know who made that card as it was just on the swap display board that I photographed, but it's nice to acknowledge it when you've had inspiration from someone else!
Finally, I just really wanted to share a story about how I have another reason to smile other than my recent fabulous trip over to Australia and how much fun I'm having with my stamping business. As many of you know, I've been busy with another new business this year, my Snorepro franchise. Well I just had to share - while I've had many happy clients now, I had a special call from the partner of one of them yesterday. They have been sleeping in separate rooms and a while ago, it broke my heart to hear her say that they just weren't meant to be together, because she's a light sleeper and he's a very loud snorer. Well, her call yesterday was to thank me for helping them - thanks to Snorepro, they are now back in the same bedroom together and she is just over the moon. I was thrilled - I really am making a difference in people's lives. I literally danced my way through the rest of the day (I even hummed as I vacuumed!!). I am changing peoples lives and making such a positive difference. What more could I ask for? I think my Dad would be proud of me, he was always helping people, and he'd be happy to know I'm making a difference too. Anyway, if you don't have any idea of what I'm talking about, you can check out what Snorepro is all about on the Snorepro website (click here) and find your nearest franchisee.
Have a wonderful weekend!
