Hello and welcome!
This is my first blog hop and the first one we've done for the Creative Inkers team, so if you've never visited my blog before, thank you for visiting!
My contribution to the blog hop is a star shaped card that I made as my swap for our recent Stampin' Up! team training, where we featured products from the new Holiday Catalogue. We made 15 of the same card so I had a cute collection of these for a few days before exchanging cards with my fellow Demonstrators. I used the Star framelits to cut two of the largest stars from our new Kraft 12x12" cardstock. I made a little score in the back one and stuck them together just on the one point I scored, so that the card will open easily and stand up unsupported. The next layer is Naturals White cardstock, which has been stamped and gold embossed with the gorgeous star stamp from Bright & Beautiful, one of my favourite new stamp sets. I die cut it using the second largest star framelit and then pierced around the star using the Eclectic template set and my trusty Stampin' Up! paper piercer and Stampin' Pierce Mat.
I can't bring myself to make cards without a sentiment of some sort so I stamped Seasons Greetings (also from Bright & Beautiful) using Cherry Cobbler ink onto our cardstock vellum so you can still see the beautiful embossed star behind it, and then hand cut it into a banner shape. After adhering that, I finished the card simply by adding a bow using the 1/8" gold ribbon from the main catalogue and a couple of small rhinestone jewels. A fairly simple and very 'clean' card, which is kind of my style right now!
If you're visiting via the blog hop you may have arrived from Jacque Williams' blog (my upline and fearless leader!). Next up on your little inspiration journey is the fabulous Lisa from the South Island, she's in Canterbury. Click on the buttons below to visit these ladies.
Thanks for taking the time to visit me today, please feel free to leave a comment, I'd love to hear what you think of my card!
