Creative Inkers Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop 2015

Hi Everyone!
I thought it was about time I blogged again... so I have signed up for a couple of blog hops.  I always try not to let others down on promises I make, so here I am!

This year's Sale-A-Bration selection is one of the best ever in my opinion, so if you haven't seen it already, click on the pic of the Sale-A-Bration brochure over to the right, and you'll be able to view it online.  I am in love with the Lotus Blossom stamp set myself, although true to form I'm collecting a lot of the other FREE items too!

I have two SAB projects to share with you today!  We made both of these in my first class of the year, a couple of weeks ago.  The Lotus Blossom stamp set was a huge hit with my guests, and all of them chose that one as their first SAB freebie!  I know there are tonnes of projects in blogland using this set, and a lot are much more elaborate than my creation.  But with this set I wanted to go super simple, and let that gorgeous flower speak for itself.  It looks like I painted it!  My guests agreed on going the simple route - some of them even refused to add the little bow as they wanted the flower to not be overshadowed by anything on this card!

This is one of our notecard sized cards, and I've used some of the Irresistably Yours specialty paper (also a SAB free gift!) with a little sponging behind the tag with the flower on it.  I've used a couple of the new things from the Occasions catalogue in here too - the ornate tag punch (I love it!) and some of our new gorgeous thick twine. It might be a little difficult to see where the card ends and the background (more of that Irresisbly Yours paper) starts, so here's another pic with the stamp set:

Colours used were Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant for the flower, and Wild Wasabi for the stem.

My second project was a super quick creation - you could make a bunch of these in a hurry if you had to!  I love the Best Day Ever collection - there are three freebie items to choose from that all coordinate, so here I used the stamp set and the patterned paper.  I grabbed one of our Tiny Treat boxes (a steal at NZ $14.50 for 25!) and did some quick stamping, on the box and on the patterned paper.  But the crowning glory on this box is the super cute paper bow, I think!  I used our new Bow Builder Punch from the Occasions catalogue and the Best Day Ever designer paper for that.

Here's a close up of the bow for you!

Loely projects Rachael. Gotta love that Lotus Blossom. Your colour choices look great together. Doesn't the bow builder punch make a great bow for a box top?

These are gorgeous Rachael! That Lotus Blossom stamp sure is popular! I agree with your students - the simplicity allows the flower to be the star :D

I'm liking that Irresistably Yours dsp better and better the more I see of it. Love the little bow on top of the treat box too.

That's a lovely Lotus Blossom card - may I CASE it please? Trying to find the balance between lots of layers and less steps for my next party make and take & this hits all the notes :)

Love your card - so clean and simple:) I still haven't used the Lotus stamp set (am I bad). I'm in love with the Irresistibly Yours DSP - it's so versatile. I also have these boxes - now to decorate some and give away as gifts. Good to see you blogging again - haha
